The Canon action grip fits on both the AE-1 Program or the Canon A1 camera bodies.  It originally was designed to add a finger grip on the front of the camera as a comfort to some shooters.  As of lately, many Canon shooters use this grip to hold the battery door closed after the latch has been damaged.  Either way, this grip is a great addition to your Canon.
